I have chosen to do sociology because it sounded like an interesting subject, and I wanted to learn more about what society is like, also other peoples views and opinions of what it is like. In addition, I would also like to learn the interaction between people that have different beliefs.
Another thought is that sociology is about stereotyping and the different stereotypes that people give to society, for example anti-social behaviour is that always bad? People don't look into what is really happening behind closed doors, maybe they are suffering at home? or getting bullied in school.

The reasons why I have chose this subject has summed up what sociology is about and also what types of topics it consists of. The benefits of taking this subject are developing of knowledge and skills
Another benefit of studying this subject is that I am going to be gaining a better knowledge and understanding of what society is like and it will also be in more depth as I didn't know a lot about it before I started the class. I am looking forward to studying the different topics that are involved in sociology.

Lastly I would like to add, that it is very enjoyable so far as I have only had a few lessons yet I feel like I have already learnt new things. Such as what Utopia means, the meaning of sociology and also some of the topics I am going to be studying.

I have chosen to do sociology because I believe it will be highly enjoyable and interesting to study; I enjoy listening to other people’s opinion and debating my own. I also realize the benefits of studying a subject that confronts some controversial subjects. I expect that the issues and subjects that we will cover are going to befit me later in life as well as help me to realize the issues in our current society. As a course sociology is very popular which makes it recognizable to employers and universities. In addition I feel that sociology will help me to understand why groups of people act in certain ways which interests me.
The benefits of studying sociology are that it will cover a variety of subjects that are current social issues that it would be beneficial to understand, it will also provide me with skills that I can apply to my life in the present and future. It is a highly required course for many university courses that are relevant to me, it also shows to employers that you have an in-depth knowledge of society and that I can comprehend current issues and problems.
The definition of sociology is ‘the study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society.’ But I feel it’s more than that; I feel that sociology allows people to understand the stereotypes and labels that society puts on them and people in general which will then allow them to look past these labels and stereotypes and have a better comprehension of people within society.

I have chosen to study sociology as I believe that it is a interesting yet challenging subject which I find very exciting. Also, I think that it will improve my confidence in debating and through this my confidence to be able to speak in front of others which will help me in the near future.

Sociology initially is the study of people in society. To put it into more depth sociology is about looking at the interaction between cultures alongside the study of human social relationships and institutions alongside the understanding of stereotypes that have been enforced by society. The benefits of sociology are that it will give me a better knowledge and understanding of the world and the country I live in also sociology will help me to have a better understanding of politics and public policy, as well as the motivations behind people's decisions and feelings.

I chose sociology as it significantly complimented my other subjects and I'm curious to discover what this subject is which led me to take this course. I’d like to investigate how Sociology involves the study of society and the overall structure of how we interact with different people from diverse culture and backgrounds. I would also like to engage in debates with controversial topics like racial and gender identity, family conflict, religious faith and mental behaviour as you identify how such personal matter make our society as a whole.

In addition, it’s a perspective where you explore how our social class, gender and culture/religion categorises how we function towards society. Furthermore sociology explains the reasons why our society is structured in a certain way in depth and why issues like education and school have an effect of how wealthy and knowledgeable we are in comparison to someone who lacks intelligence and is more likely to become unemployed and committing crime - therefore expresses the typical stereotypes sociology come across as you discern prejudice and discrimination evokes throughout our society.

Moreover, sociology isn't just focused on ones individuals’ behaviour; it’s more about recognising how we all contribute to the way our community is structured which is necessary for the working world as you come across many different obstacles.

Fundamentally, Sociology is the study of how society is organised as well as the way people behave and interact with each other, also it can study the way different institutions influence groups of people.
The questions asked in Sociology never fail to challenge and to me the most intriguing thing about this subject is that there are no right or wrong answers; which ultimately enables discussions and debates to arise which help share ideas. This also allows each individual to express their opinions which put across their perceptions and outlook towards some of the topics.
Through studying this subject I hope to further develop my analytical, collaborative and communication skills, since I personally think that it is important to be equipped in such abilities in order to progress as an individual, and benefit your society.
I hope that by discovering the way society functions will capacitate me to become more aware of the way it can be changed for the better.
In the short amount of time that I have been studying Sociology I have found that it provokes philosophical and contentious questions; this is deeply appealing to me, since I enjoy thought-provoking topics.
Since Sociology is quite a recent subject in comparison to the likes of Law, History, etc. It is fascinating to study since new researches and discoveries are made daily which help us as students’ progress and develop our knowledge as well as influence the upcoming generation by contributing new ideas and theories.

I have chosen to take sociology as I feel that it is a charismatic subject choice. I believe that sociology will strengthen my debating skills and to help me understand more about the world/society we live in today. Sociology is also one of the most popular A-level subjects, therefore I decided to try it, and have found that in the last couple of lessons I do enjoy the subject.

Sociology is the looking at different social classes in society and the general way of how people act in large social groups. It also involves the studying of social problems that we face every day.

The benefits of studying sociology is to give you an understanding of the different groups that exist today, which is important to know as we meet new people continuously. We need to understand that all people are different and that different groups make up our society, such as different culture groups. I believe that sociology gives more awareness on the struggles of modern politics and government but also an understanding of how the society we live in affects us.

I chose sociology because it consists of topics that I deem enjoyable. Topics such as; relationships, social classes and also anti-social behaviour. My choice of sociology at A level was influenced by many reasons. Firstly, sociology as a subject complimented all of the additional subjects I chose. Doing English means that I am able to learn good literacy skills and use them within my sociology work. Moreover, I have also chosen psychology which in my opinion relates well to sociology due to them both being studies of people. However, the difference being that psychology is focusing on individual people rather than as a whole. In addition, my other subject choice is business. I feel that sociology can benefit me in this subject as studying society can aid in understanding the business world. Along with sociology complimenting my subjects I also feel that it has a lot to offer and will both intrigue and interest me.
Sociology will allow me to gain knowledge regarding the issues within our society today. It will also offer an opportunity to improve my debating skills and allow me to cooperate with others. Another aspect of sociology is that it encourages discussions and allows you to express your personal opinion. It is referred to as a popular subject and over the past few lessons I can understand why. I have enjoyed the lessons and look forward to studying society.

Sociology is the study of society. It allows us to look at how society is organised and why society is organised in this way. This subject highlights the different social groups and classes and the way in which society stereotypes everyone into one of these groups.

I have chosen to study sociology because it is extremely complimentary of my three other A-levels. In addition I am interested as to what the subject involved. After completing the first few lessons I am now particularly interested in why people are put into theses stereotypes and what the differences are between each stereotypes. I found it intriguing that Sociology doesn’t have a right or wrong answer; I believe this element will make the remainder of the course interesting but also challenging. Furthermore, I have chosen to take this subject as it has many benefits. One key benefit this subject has for me personally, is that along with complimenting my other A-levels it will complement my goals for the future. Another benefit for this subject is that it will allow me to develop my understanding of other cultures and how they interact with each other. Finally this subject will offer me a chance to hear others views and opinions on current topics.

Essentially, Sociology is the study of how society is structured. In addition it is the study of how a diverse community adjusts itself in order to work together and how people behave and interact with one another.

There are a number of reasons why I have chosen to take Sociology as one of my four A-Levels. Firstly, I found it to be extremely complimentary to my other subjects in many ways. After the first few lessons I feel that my choice in taking Sociology was right; as I found it to be both interesting and challenging. Another reason why I chose Sociology is that there is no right or wrong answer to sociology; by this I believe the remainder of the course will be thought-provoking. I am looking forward to take other people’s opinions into account but be able to voice my own opinions in a respectable manner.

According to me the benefits of sociology are that it will enhance and better my knowledge and understanding of the country and the world that I live in. I trust it will also give me an insight into why I make some decisions in my life. I hope it will benefit me to be weary of stereotypes that society has already formed in my mind. Finally, I believe that Sociology will give me an upper hand for my future career path.

I have chosen to study sociology because I enjoy the topics it covers. I feel it is extremely important to know about the society we live in, and how it was formed. Sociology complements my other subjects also. I am interested to know how we function as a society and as the future generation I think it is important to understand what type of society we’re living in and what we could possibly contribute to and change.

Sociology (by dictionary) is the study of society. It allows us to look at how society is organised and why society is organised in this way. On our course, we learn about culture and identity (living in a multi-cultural society, I feel it is important to be culturally aware.) We also explore the education system, family units and how we function as a society wholly.

As sociology covers controversial topics, it creates good communication skills for debate and general conversation. It helps give a good understanding of current issues in the world we live in. I look forward to studying Sociology.

the reason I have chosen psychology is that its a subject that digs under the surface of our society and is looking at what is really going on. it is a subject that raises a lot of questions for me to think about, furthermore it results in passionate discussions and debates. sociology helps makes sense of our society. it answers questions that cant be answered anywhere else.

sociology is the study of society and it dates back to the 1800s. the word is most associated, originally, with the idea of French philosopher Auguste Comte. it is often classified as a social science. sociology is concerned with explaining what is happening in the world the we humans inhabit.

the benefits of me studying this subject is that it improves my communication skills, by me taking part in debates and discussions with the class. moreover, it allows me to have a greater understanding of the society that I live in. in addition, I am particularly interested in why we form stereotypes.

I have chosen to do sociology as the subject has taken my interest as i have always been curious of the society around me and what sparks the stereotypes that we in britain in particular view like what could be a cold teenager being viewed as a gang member just because that is what we peice together in society. i also decided to chose sociology as i want to go into the business world and with a better understanding of the people around me it will give me the edge when designing or taking consideration into the needs of people

in a nutshell sociology is the study of society.

the benifits of me studying sociology is because in the class debates it opens my mind to different views towards topics i feel strongly about where as before i could only form my own opinion rather than hear everyone elses , also it shows the stereotypes in which we form and that intrigues me to how far that goes

I have chosen Sociology primarily because I have an extensive interest into why people are influenced simply because of one another and how ones opinion can alter someone else's. The questions you brought up on the board are questions I have truly thought about especially the one examining the rich and poor globally and internationally.

Sociology is essentially the study of society, however to extend that, it's the analysing of social classes and social patterns, social interactions and problems.

The benefits of Sociology for me include strengthening my understanding of people, culture and their beliefs, which will give me the upper hand in my possible future jobs: counselling, as well as my other chosen subject Psychology. This will build personal and professional trust between my patients and myself, which would be the ultimate achievement for me.

I have chosen to study Sociology because society interests me, and I believe that it is very important for everyone to have a solid understanding of how people and communities interact with each other to form the modern society we live in. Moreover, I greatly enjoy analysing the different choices that people make and how that affects others around them, so in that sense Sociology complements one of my other choices, Psychology.
I find Sociology to be the right choice for me; I find it interesting but complex and challenging at the same time. It spans over a lot of topics that I will enjoy learning about (for example social classes, relationships, and stereotypes) and will hopefully improve my confidence in debating and voicing my opinions. Improving these skills will also benefit me in the future. Because I would like to go into the Media industry, I will need to pitch my ideas to audiences, so it's obvious to see how Sociology would help me there. It will also help me to mould my ideas around my target audiences better.
To conclude, I believe that a qualification in Sociology is an excellent thing to have, because it is recognisable and teaches a range of good skills.

Sociology is the study of how people behave collectively in their own cultures, this is done by understanding what the culture is about.
I have chosen to do sociology as I have always been very opinionated and I think that it would be very interesting to learn other viewpoints on controversial subjects that I wouldn’t ordinarily hear, whilst being able to explain my own opinion. In addition to this I will learn about different cultures which will be very interesting as I would not otherwise learn about them; this will help me to be more understanding of different people and more open to what people have to say and teach. As well as this I would like to have a better and comprehensive understanding about stereotypes as they are used in everyday life. This point has always interested me as in other subjects it has never been explained to me why certain groups of people have been categorised the way they are. Another reason is that I think this subject will be vital in improving my communication skills. This is important to me as I’m not always confident when explaining my point of view, so this qualification will hopefully gain me a life skill. Lastly, I think that this subject works well with history ALevel as it will help me understand the opinions and beliefs in more depth, this is important to me as I would like to have a job related to history; so sociology will help me achieve my goals.

I have chosen to study sociology as I feel that it is a very interesting subject. I feel that it will educate me on the social issues in todays society. I find it interesting learning about the different social classes, stereotypes and looking at social behaviour. Focusing on large cultural groups will help me to develop a better understanding of the world we live in. It is important that we know what is happening in todays society in order to understand everyone's point of view. I am very opinionated, however I like to take other peoples opinions into consideration. Sociology will help me to do this and I will be able to learn new things about our society.

Sociology is the study of human relations and institutions. It covers a divers range of subjects starting from race and social class to crime and religion. Sociology also allows us to talk in more depth about the social problems we are being faced with.

I have chosen Sociology as I find it to benefit my career choice in the future. I have also found the lessons to be very interesting as they have allowed me to think in more depth about the society we have become accustomed to as well as why giving people stereotypes has become a norm nowadays.

Sociology is the study of society and how and why we act in certain ways in diffrent situations
Sociology will benifits me by opening my mind to diffrent people's opinions and help me to see diffrent points of view from people which have been in diffrent cercumstances to my own

I have chosen sociology because it is a subject that interests me but also because it is a subject that has a variety of different topics that I have never thought in about in depth, which I believe will be enjoyable. However, the past few lessons so far have proved to be very entertaining and hopefully the rest will be the same.
Sociology is the study of a society, culture or large group of people, moreover sociology includes such things as religion, crime, social class and different types of social structures.
The benefits of studying sociology are that it will allow me to strengthen my debate skills and give me a wider understanding of how culture and society as a whole effect both myself and the people around me.
