Different technologies influenced medical development through time. For example writing that started with hieroglyphics in Ancient Egypt helped communication about theories and discoveries to be passed on and down through generations. Later on the printing press was invented in the Renaissance period, this enabled hundreds of identical copies to be printed and sent out to a wider audience. This meant monks did not have to write everything out separately. Gun powder was another technology that changed medicine; although it injured people this meant new injuries were being caused and therefore doctors could investigate and record different and new symptoms.

writing influenced the medical development because tihngs like writing and paper allowed doctors to write down their theories or discoveries to pass down through generation.
the printing press continued to develop medicine as lots of doctors had books that they had written and rather than get monks to produce 5 books a year they could produce up o 5,000 copies and spread them world wide.

Gunpowder also progressed in technology as it was an advantage to war and also new injuries where being found meaning doctors had to find a cure or treatment to help the wounded

The writing press helped medicine progress as it helped spread all of the theories around the world so everyone can know. It also helped as books were printed and people could learn new remedies.
Gunpowder helped surgery improve because more people were getting injured.
Writing helped as people like the Egyptians could keep all their discoveries to themselves as they wrote in their own language.

The printing press helped to spread the word about doctors new theories and their discoveries to expand societies ideas on how to prevent and cure diseases.

Gunpowder was used in war to bomb so doctors would have to think of ways to heal the wounded and stop infections.

Writing helped to improve medicine because doctors could write down and keep a record of there ideas and remedies. This helped other doctors to learn about new or old medicine. Also the printing press helped this even more because they was able to copy out there books and notes. This meant there ideas could be spread and learnt about on a huge scale.

Technology has changed over time which has helped hinder the improvement in medicine, During the Renaissance period technology such as the Printing Press, gun powder and writing had been / discovered.

The printing press had helped spread new medical uses faster than before, this was because before they had one Monk to write a book which took over a year, however the printing press produced the books many times faster.

Gun powder helped the improvement of medicine as new wounds were created from the bullets, this allowed Ambroise Paré to create new herbal theories.

Writing allowed doctors to record detailed notes about the patient and their treatments this helped when similar cases came along, and they could look back at their old treatments.

Writing helped medical progress because Hippocrates invented writing down the symptoms, diagnosis and treatments for every illness he encountered, and as the Library of Alexandria stored many of Hippocrates books after his death, people could still read and learn from them.
The printing press really helped the development of medicine because they could print and distribute cures to all of the countries in Europe. It was also very helpful for scientists to communicate with each other about their latest discoveries.
Gunpowder, because it was newly invented, created a lot of new injuries to treat, and therefore doctors could find new cures and treatments for them, and then record them for later reference.

When medical records were printed rather than hand copied, the information could spread between more people faster.
The explorers carried disease to native people who had no immunity. They discovered new sources of medicines in the plants and animals they found.
people starting to challenge the church and being brave enough to carry out dissection, they were prepared to challenge other ideas (such as those of Greeks and Romans) and the printing press was invented which helped spread ideas all over the world.

technology has had a great impact on the history of medicine because doctors/surgeons had to write down their method of how they done the surgery and helped their patients if they were ill. so we now have more ways of looking at new medicines. a few years later the printing press was invented and it was a printer so people could copy other peoples methods so they could be used in future and everyone could use them.

Writing helped the history of medicine progress as it made it easy to communicate new information with people meaning it could spread the medical knowledge further and doctor were able to use this knowledge quicker and heal patients a lot faster because the information would be with them quicker.
The printing press played a big role as it was another way of communicating the knowledge with others. It improved the speed in which the information reaches them and it would be clearer and readable for everyone than writing.

Technology has effected medicine over time and especially the Renaissance period, writing, printing press and Gunpowder, are aspects of technology. The Printing press allowed individual genius to expand their knowledge world wide; this enabled a larger amount of knowledge to average people to understand basic theory's of medicine. Gunpowder caused new injuries to soldiers in the army; which meant new cures had to be developed, this caused progression in medicine to understand huge open cut wounds. Ambroise Pare developed an even better method to treat gunshot wounds, using a mixture of egg yolks, oil of roses and turpentine because he ran out of hot oil, this was a great method and was an advancement of medicine. Finally writing developed the invention of symptoms and helped Hippocrates understand the four humours or Galen theory of opposites.

Writing helped progress the knowledge of medicine as the women healers/ wise women were skilled with herbal remedies; when they learnt how to write, they wrote the recipes down and carried the tradition down form mother to daughter. The printing press helped, as the physicians- such as: Vesalius, Harvey and Paracelsus could spread their ideas.

technology through time has proven very useful due to the amount of people that use it today. the Egyptians were the first to develop writing and paper making, their medicinal technique were more advanced as there were different ways such as the Ebers Papyrus technique( they managed to learn how to write). the printing press was invented by Johannes Gutenberg in the 1450's
