Year Ten, you will need to research and understand the following concepts for your History GCSE controlled assessment. Any work you do outside of the lesson will be beneficial and increase your overall grade. Remember you must take note of the website that you have used.

The key concepts are:

- Origins of the Civil Rights Movement
- Key figures in the fight for Civil Rights (Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Black Panther Party, Nation of Islam)
-Key figures in passing the Civil Rights Laws (Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ)
- How did things improve in the 1970's.

You can use these websites or your own to help research.
