Medieval Medicine AQA Medicine.

Here are the lessons available for the Medieval period. We will examine how medical understanding developed through the medieval period specifically looking at the Black Death and the fall of the Roman Empire. We will contrast this with the developments in the East.

We will cover the following significant individuals and events.

1009 The fall of the Roman Empire and its impact. from WatHistory
09 - The fall of the Roman Empire

What changed?
Was there continuity or regression?
10 - The Black Death

How did the Black Death as a case study show that little had changed in 1350 from the Ancient period. If anything medicine had regressed due to the impact of one particular factor.
1010 The Black Death from WatHistory
1011 What role did the Church have on medical developments from WatHistory
11 - Importance of the Church

This lesson will focus on the importance of the Church. How much of a factor was it in the development of medicine. Did it help or did it hinder progress?

You need to decide.
